Mission Assurance Corporation is pleased to announce the awarding of "Recommended" status to our RFID Middleware platform by the ePC Group. The ePC group is a global, strategic and tactical consulting practice concentrating on the successful, cost-effective adoption and implementation of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Headed by John Greaves and Pete Abell, the ePC Group provides unquestioned leadership in standards, implementation guidance, technology trend analysis, and supply chain consulting.

The ePC Group is working with Mission Assurance to tune the functionality of its Ellipsis RFID software so that Ellipsis will exceed the exacting needs of supply chain clients. In selecting Mission Assurance, the ePC Group was drawn to:

• The ease and speed of Ellipsis software deployment, a critical factor for reaching compliance with the RFID tagging initiatives of large buyers such as Wal*Mart and the U.S. Department of Defense.
• The flexibility of Ellipsis’ policy-based control, enabling businesses to quickly enact and adapt to ongoing changes in supply chain vendors, customers and products.
• The power of the automation platform - that will allow customers, adopting RFID tagging at the request of their customers, to actually see a local IIR
• The overriding need for Security in the supply chain, that is consistent with Homeland Security guidelines.

The ePC group, recognizing that the supply chain is a cooperative network, also plans to use the advanced EAI capabilities of the Assurance Ecosystem (Æ) in gluing together vertical associations of suppliers. Æ, with Ellipsis, provides a framework where goods can be tracked from production, through distribution, to retail outlets, allowing free flow of messages and information. Besides providing value for every partner in the vertical supply chain, this Ellipsis Network Effect will demonstrate cooperative vertical supply chains where "the total value is greater than the sum of the parts."
